In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We are informed by your letter of yesterday that the new 4th Rate Ship building at Deptford, and the new 5th Rate building at Sheerness, will be ready to launch at the next Spring tide, the proposed date being March 6th. We direct you to cause the Ships to be launched accordingly at this time and fitted out to Sea for Channel service, manned with their highest complement of Men, and victualled for four months, or as much as they can conveniently stow. You also informed us that six of the new Fireships, and four of the new Ketches, now building by Contract, are intended to be launched next month on the days therein expressed. We direct you to cause these vessels to be fitted out to Sea for service in the Channel, to be manned to their highest complement of Men, and victualled for four months, or as much as they can conveniently stow.
