In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The Company of Watermen have advised us that several Watermen named herein, having received Impress Money to appear at the hall did not do so but entered themselves as Volunteers on board their Majesties ships. You are directed to make enquiry about payment of their Majesties Royal Bounty to Seamen of the Fleet for these Watermen and to see that they do not receive any Bounty money. [names of 23 Watermen given].
