In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
You are directed that when paying their Majesties fleet to 1 October, pursuant to our order, you pay only those men who personally appear to receive their wages, the letters of attorneys and administrations to be paid at the office, upon the recalls of ships according to the practise of the Navy. You are also directed to have the officers as well as the men of the respective ships paid, notwithstanding that they shall not have passed their accounts nor satisfied you of having performed their instructions, taking care that before they receive their wages which shall fall due after 1 October they pass their accounts and satisfy you in the performance of their instructions according to the Rules and Practise of the Navy.
