In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

The petition of Richard Prittells, late Master Attendant at Chatham. He has served in the Navy from the age of 12 and has spent above 30 years as a Warrant Officer as it appears on his certificate annexes. He was dismissed as Master Attendant in 1689 due to age and infirmity which rendered him unable to discharge his duties. No care being taken for his future subsistence as has been done for others, he is rendered wholly incapable of making any provision for a tolerable livelihood. He prays that their Lordships would be pleased to give orders for his superannuation as other important officers have.( Footnote from the Commissioners of the Admiralty asking the Navy Board to report whether the petition is within the provisions for pensions for Officers Superannuated in the Service at Sea.)
