In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Petition of Francis Turner stating that he has served many years in the Navy and has been in command of the ORANGE TREE prize and the JASON fireship, has been Gunner of the ST GEORGE for 13 years and late Gunner of the VANGUARD for 2 years. By reason of his age and weakness he has been dismissed the service and now has little to subsist on. He asks that their Lordships be pleased to order that he may partake of the Royal Bounty as a superannuated person. [Footnote] - the Navy Board is directed to examine the matter and report whether the Petitioner comes within the establishment made by their Majesties for Officers Superannuated for Service at Sea.
