In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Abraham Hamm, late Boatswain of the BERWICK, by reason of age and infirmity is incapable of further employment. We have thought fit to discharge him and it appears from your report dated 4 February that he has served between 21 and 22 years, which is more than the time for such officers to be superannuated by the establishment of His Majesty in Council of 11 December 1690. You are directed to settle a pension on him during his natural life, equal to the wages and allowances of Boatswains of 3rd Rate ships, to commence from the time he was discharged from the BERWICK. You are to sign bills on the Treasurer of the Navy for this.
