In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The Mainmast of the MONTAGUE has sprung and she is leaking. Admiral Russell has ordered her to proceed to Sheerness. Instructions are given for her mainmast to be inspected and if possible patched up. Otherwise she is to receive a new mainmast together with four months' Victuals - all as a matter of urgency.
