In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
By your letter to this Board dated yesterday you have proposed making at the Portsmouth Yard two Wet Docks in addition to the Dry Dock, some time since ordered to be built there, to a design presented by the Surveyor of the Navy when you attended us last Friday. We direct you to cause these Docks to be taken in hand as soon as maybe, according to the dimensions expressed in the Estimate of the Charge you sent us dated October 5th, amounting to the Sum of fifteen thousand eight hundred and ninety pounds, which Estimate is returned to you confirmed by this Board.
