Document signed by Henry Guy, Secretary to the Treasury, 1631-1711.
The Treasury Commissioners desire that out of the Money which is in the hands of the Treasurer of the Navy of the loan lately made by the Citizens of London being upon the two thirds additional Excise there may be forthwith issued so much as will pay two quarters due to the Yards for the year 1691, and that you give Orders to the Treasurer accordingly.
I am commanded by the Commissioners to assure you at the same time that the Money due to the Yards before 1691 shall be taken care of in the next payment, it not being possible to provide for payment out of this Money which is strictly appropriated by Act of Parliament to the Service of the Navy.
