In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Captain Meese, late Commander of the EXETER, has applied to this Board to be cleared of the sum of forty five pounds which was imprested to him for the charges of manning his Ship, alleging that by the loss of his Papers at her blowing up he is unable to give any account of the laying out of the said Money.
We direct you, upon the Captain making affidavit of the loss of his Papers and that the said Money was truly disbursed to him on the service for which he was imprested, to sign him a Bill for clearing the said Imprest.
