Document signed by James Southerne, Secretary to the Admiralty, fl. 1690-1694.
Captain Akerman, in his last Weekly Account to this Office, mentioned that he found at Gravesend on Tuesday last the THOMAS Ketch, Thomas Shipton Master, a Tender on the ROYAL OAK, which came from Plymouth with Train Oil for the account of the Captain of the ST ALBANS.
I thought it fitting to give you notice thereof (lest you might not otherwise be advised of it) as you may require an Account of the Master of the Ketch (if still in their Majesties' service) by what Order he bought these goods.
