Upon consideration of your letter of the 26th inst; concerning the present condition of NEWCASTLE we direct you to cause the Ship to be rebuilt in their Majesties' Yard or a Merchant Yard, as you judge best.
Also on consideration of your advice that there are not at present three Merchant Ships in the Thames fitting to be made Men of War of the fourth Rate, we direct you to hire one of them to be a fifth Rate, taking care she be a good sailor.
