In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
At a Court Marshall held on board HMS QUEEN on 22 Feb. 1695/6 Sir George Rooke Admiral of the White President John Marshall Boatswain of the FLAME Fireship tried for carelessness in endangering the burning of the Fireship. At another Court Marshall on board the same ship on the 27th April Sir George Rooke also President, Ralph Jefferys Gunner of HMS BURLINGTON was tried for embezzling some HM stores. They were sentenced to forfeit 2 months pay to the Chest at Chatham. We enclose copies of the sentence and direct you to cause their wages to be paid to the Chest at Chatham.
