In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
You having acquainted us by your letter of the 29th of April last, that you have bought the BRILLIANT Sloop at Dover for HMS as an Advice Boat and that she has 6 guns and 2 Pattereroers, and that you think that 30 men may be a fitting complement for her. We do hereby direct you to have her fitted out for Sea service and victualled for 10 weeks service in the Channel with all haste and Captain Walker Commander of HMS FORESIGHT has complained of the bottom of the ship. We desire you to undertake this at her next refit.
