In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Ref. your letter of the 13 inst. Reporting the difficulty of the 2nd. Assistant to the Master Shipwright procuring a house to live in near Portsmouth Yard. As work in the Yard is so increased the officer should be constantly on call. The Officers of the yard have proposed that the Masthouse guardhouse could be fitted out as accommodation for 50 to 60 pounds. As £10 is allowed to that Officer for rent, we hereby direct you to have the Guardhouse be fitted out for his accommodation.
