In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The MERCURY Advice boat has brought into Plymouth a French Privateer which carried 34 men and 4 Patereroes, and will row with 20 Oars. This vessel maybe useful in chasing small enemy boats. It could be manned by men from the Port Guard ship. We require you to purchase the vessel from the Prize Officers and that she be fitted for this service.
