In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We direct you to cause 60 of the Crew of HMS Expedition chosen by Captain Clemonts to be hired out to HMS Duchess refitting at Chatham. Also you give orders for taking up such Vessels as may be had in the Portsmouth area capable of being used as HM Ships, if insufficient cannot be taken up in those parts for this work, take care to timely furnish them from this River. And by your letter to this Board of Yesterday that 120 men and 30 guns are a fitting Complement for the ship London Merchant hired to be a 5th Rate Man of War. We direct you to so fit her out and supply victuals for 4 months Service.
