In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The Commissioners of Victualling have reported that a parcel of Oatmeal provided by Mr Henly of Bristol to Portsmouth has be refused to be accepted by the Pursers of HM Ships only because it is smaller than previously made. We require you to have the Oatmeal checked and if it appears to be sweet and good and fitting to be on-board HM Ships you are to order it to be used for that purpose and report back.
