In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

The Officers of HM Yard Portsmouth made an application to be exempt from paying the several Taxes on their [masters?] by Act of Parliament which have been assessed upon them in respect to their salary's and profits of their Offices in the Yard. And by an Order in Council dated 18 July last left the matter to us, and finding that such Officers have formerly had this favour; We desire you to examine how much has been payed by them and have it repayed by the Treasurer of the Navy.
