In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
In your letter of the 8th inst; you have proposed that the DOLPHIN is the fittest of the Fireships to be converted into a fifth Rate Frigate. We direct that she be converted accordingly and fitted for Channel service, and furnished with three months victuals with the complement of one hundred and fifteen Men and twenty six Guns.
We further direct you to cause the French Fireship EXTRAVAGANT, lately brought into Plymouth, to be fitted to Sea as a Fireship in place of the DOLPHIN, and victualled for four months, and that she be established with forty Men and ten Guns.
