In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The Victualling Commissioners have informed us that they cannot supply their Majesties' Ships of the third Rate now fitting out at Portsmouth with their whole quantity of victuals there as required . We direct you to cause the several Ships named in the margins to be supplied from Portsmouth from there to the Buoy of the Nore with only their Ground tier of Beer, and so much more Beer and other victuals as shall be fitting to bring them about from there to the Buoy of the Nore.
On their arrival you are to cause their victuals to be completed to the Proportion ordered for them.
But that the LION, DREADNOUGHT and MONTAGUE have their whole quantity of victuals appointed for them completed at Portsmouth as soon as maybe.
