In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We direct you to cause two Rowing Sloops ( of somewhat bigger dimensions than the Brigantines last year) to be forthwith built either in in their Majesties' own or Merchant Yards, where they would be soonest dispatched to attend the Fleet next Summer, sending an Estimate of the Charges thereof.
Also you are to hire four fitting Merchant Ships to be employed as Hospital Ships, and cause them to be fitted in all respects for that service, sending us an account of their Names, and what number of Men and number and nature of Guns you judge fitting to be allowed them.
Also we direct you to order the Clerk of the Cheque of their Majesties' Yards to send an account from time to time to the Victualling Commissioners what time each of the Ships under their respective Cheques shall enter into Sea victuals.
