In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The Commissioners for Victualling having informed us that there are some Bills of Exchange lately drawn from Jamaica amounting to three thousand and sixty six pounds four shillings and four pence, for Victuals and Supply for the SWAN, GUERNSEY and SUCCESS, which they do not think fitting to allow without a particular Order
We direct you to give directions to the Victualling Commissioners to accept and pay these Bills, taking care to enquire into the prices charged for the respective Provisions furnished, and whether these are according to the rates usually paid at that place for Provisions of like quality.
You are also to take care that that the Provisions and Money paid for them are charged to the Account of the Persons properly chargeable therewith by the Rules of the Navy.
