In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
A complaint has come to his Majesty from the Council of Virginia that the Commander of the hired ship WOLF, which lately came from there, left unsatisfied a considerable debt to several of the inhabitants of that Colony for the assistance given by them in rescuing the Ship when she was aground in that Country.
We direct you to put a stop to the payment of any freight to the said Ship until you receive further Orders.
We also direct you to cause William Knaplock, now Boatswain of the PRINCESS ANN, to be discharged from the said employment, and that you ask the Owners to nominate another person to be Boatswain in his place if the Ship continues in their Majesties' service.
