In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

It has been proposed to this Board that the Fireships fitting in this River to attend the Fleet this year should be fitted out and manned as soon as may be without cleaning and sent down to the Buoy of the Nore, and be afterwards cleaned and have their Fireworks put on board at Sheerness when the Fleet is nearly ready, by which means they may go to Sea clean with the Fleet.
We ask you to consider this and report your opinion.
Also let us know in what time cleaning could take if thought fit for this to take place at Sheerness.
It has been represented to us that the present allowance of Water Cask to the Fleet is not sufficient and it is proposed they should be supplied with half as much more. We ask you to consider this and report your opinion.
We direct you to cause a set of such Lanthorns as the BRITANNIA now has to be provided for each of the Flagships of the Fleet.
