Document signed by James Southerne, Secretary to the Admiralty, fl. 1690-1694.
Pray let me know when the Money went down to Portsmouth for the PORTLAND and PHEONIX, and when you think it got to Portsmouth. It is a pity they should lose their fair wind as well as they should go without Money. The Merchant Ships stay for them at Plymouth and are very impatient. I hope Orders are gone for paying them as soon as the Money arrives, as my letter from Portsmouth of yesterday's date says nothing.
