In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Application has been made by Mary Swarton, widow of John Swarton a Midshipman in the PRINCESS ANN hired ship, praying their Majesties' Bounty for the loss of her husband, alleged to have been in command on shore at Guadalupe in the West Indies when killed by enemy shot. You are directed to inquire into the matter and, if it is as stated, make her an allowance of the Bounty as if he had been killed on board.
