In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Robert Shortis, Second Assistant to the Master Shipwright, is to be appointed Master Caulker at Chatham, in place of Robert Clothier who by reason of age and infirmity is incapable of further employment. You are directed to enter Robert Shortis accordingly together with such salary, allowances, privileges and immunities as is proper. His warrant is to be dated 15 February 1692.
