In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

We have considered your report of 1 February, about the allowance to be made for five merchant ships taken up and employed by Captain Laurence Wright, late Commander-in-Chief in the West Indies viz. PRINCE OF ORANGE (Josiah Daniels), ANN (John Leech), LANROTH[?] (Thomas Willey) CADIZ MERCHANT (Jonathan Harding). We agree to your proposal to an allowance of 8 shillings per ton a month for freight for the time they serve, their Majesties to bear the charge of wages and victuals and the ships to be paid as 5th Rates. Your estimate of the cost of this service amounts to £7,720.3.0 and you are to sign bills on the Treasurer of the Navy to pay the owners for their freight and direct the Commissioners of the Victualling to pay the victualling charge.
