Document signed by Henry Guy, Secretary to the Treasury, 1631-1711.

The Commissioner of their Majesties' Customs have received a letter from Mr Cole, Collector of Customs at Cowes, pressing for payment of his arrears of imprest and conduct money for seamen. He expects to receive fresh orders for issuing money pursuant to His Majesty's proclamation of 28 January and complains that the general accounts of the Customs is retarded by collectors being so long out of their money. Their Lordships of the Treasury have therefore asked me to represent to you the inconvenience to the service for want of a more speedy method of payment.
