In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Robert Clothier, late Master Caulker at Chatham, by reason of age and infirmity is incapable of further employment. It appears by your report of 1 February that he has served the Crown since the time of the Restoration, which is longer than the time limited for the service of such officers to be superannuated by His Majesty's Order in Council of 11 December 1690. You are directed to settle a pension on him during his natural life equal to the wages and allowances to a Master Caulker from the time of his discharge. You are directed to sign bills quarterly on the Treasurer of the Navy for paying this pension.
