In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The Ordnance have advised us that they ordered John Adams and Henry Brass , Bombardiers to go on board the SALAMANDER last year to service the mortars, where they continued from 12 May to September 1691. They both went ashore in Ireland with their mortars to the siege of Limerick and returned on board on 9 October and continued there until 12 December. You are directed to make an allowance of victuals to the Commander for the time the Bombardiers were victualled.
