In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The Commanders of HM Ships fitting out in the Thames have reported that progress with the work has been greatly hindered by absenteeism on the part of Crews. Orders are given for notices to be displayed at Deptford and Woolwich requiring Men to return to their ships within five days or face penalties. Those Men who have gone aboard other ships as Volunteers are also to return to their ships and are to be granted Protections.
