In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Sir Henry Johnson has offered to build new ships for the Navy. The Navy Board is instructed to negotiate with him to build two sixty-gun ships on terms not in excess of those secured with other shipyards on the Thames. Admiral Russell has asked for John Grover, Gunner of the BRISTOL, to be allowed to go to sea in the BRITANNIA. Permission is granted provided Grover continues to be paid as Gunner of the BRISTOL and not of the BRITANNIA.
