In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Richard Adams, late Gunner of the DUNKIRK is rendered incapable of further service by reason of age and infirmity. It appears from your report of 30 March that he has served as Gunner of several ships for between 15 and 16 years, which is more than the limit for such officers to be superannuated by the Order in Council dated 1 December 1690. You are directed to settle a pension on him during his natural life, equal to the wages and allowances for Gunners of 3rd Rates and to sign bills for this on the Treasurer of the Navy.
