In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
You are directed to look for hire of a fitting merchant ship to be employed at the Buoy of the Nore for lodging men procured for the fleet. Sir Cloudesley Shovell advises us that some of the lieutenants from the LONDON and ROYAL WILLIAM, employed in the county procuring men, were hindered from repairing on board the ships to be entered. You are directed to have those lieutenants he shall certify as so employed, entered into pay from the date of their respective commissions. You are directed to forbear turning over the Purser of the SUCCESS into the new AFRICA, notwithstanding our late orders over that ship's officers and company, but to have him discharged.
