In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Enclosure: Petition of Thomas Fawle Agent to the Right Honourable John Lord Viscount Massereen in which it is stated that agents of the Crown visited Lord Massereen before conducting surveys of woodland belonging to him, and where it was understood that no felling would take place before the various owners had been informed. This was ignored and many trees of exceptional quality were felled without compensation. Appended is a note by the Earl of Nottingham referring the Petition to the Admiralty.
