In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Enclosure: Report submitted by Captain Ashe of the First Marine Regiment in which he informs that a quantity of Marines were ordered to join the Squadron commanded by Colonel Mathew Aylmer and supplied with clothes and spending money which was to be deducted from their Sea Pay. He further relates that a Captain Martin was appointed to expedite matters and is liable for what has been paid to the merchant who supplied the clothes and that the sum has been entered as a charge against him. He requests that Martin be reimbursed.
