In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Referring the Petition of Elizabeth Stephens to the Navy Board for opinion. Countersigned by James Southerne, Admiralty Board Secretary. On the reverse is part of the actual Petition in which she relates that her husband Robert Stevens, a Pilot aboard the DEPTFORD, was killed in action in Bantry Bay and is applying for compensation. She understands that the Admiralty was disposed to grant her request but difficulties have arisen in obtaining confirmation of her husband's death.
