In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Informing that the Commander-in-Chief of the West Indies Squadron has been ordered to put the ships' Companies on short rations as soon as the ships are clear of the Channel. Crews are however to be compensated with Short Allowance money when reaching their destination.
