In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Petition of Walter Dougherty in which he claims that due to valour in the face of the Enemy in the West Indies and having amassed a considerable sum of money he was advised to invest it in something of value rather than hazard sending it by sea to England, and as a consequence has bought the wage Tickets of the Wife of Lieutenant Charles Coates. On the reverse is an Order releasing the Wages of Lieutenant Charles Coates of the TIGER Prize to be paid to the Petitioner, provided has produces Legal Authority together with Coate's Journal and his Commander's Certificate.
