In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We direct you to cause the Ships of the first, second and third Rates hereunder named, which are intended to be part of the Marine fleets in the Channel next summer,
6 first Rates, commencing with BRITANNIA; 10 second Rates commencing with DUKE; 8 third Rates commencing with BURFORD, to be victualled with four months dry Provisions and eight weeks Beer to the first and second Rates, and ten weeks Beer to the third Rates, and that the rest of the Beer to complete the dry Provisions be sent along with the Fleet in victualling Ships. Also that the Ships be furnished with the like extra allowance of Water Cask as was ordered for the Fleet last year. You are also to cause the Ground Tier of Beer to be sent down to the Ships in the River Medway which are in condition to take same in, and to the others as soon as they are ready to receive it.
