Certificates and letters relating to Bassett’s appointments in the Royal Naval Reserve and his transport duties at Newhaven, Liverpool and Portsmouth in 1915-1918. Also a handwritten summary of his services in the period 1903-1918. Letters sent to Mrs Helen M. Bassett, with condolences and discussion of her late husband’s entitlement to a war bonus and medals. Including a letter of condolence from Admiral Stanley C.J. Colville, Commander-in-Chief at Portsmouth, dated 30 September 1918. Five newspaper cuttings with articles about Bassett's death and funeral, published in September and October 1918.
