(1) Letter to his son Henry G. Thursfield at Fairhill, Great Berkhamsted, sent from the battleship HMS SANS PAREIL (1887) off Scarborough, dated 30 July 1891.
(2) Copy of a letter to his daughter Dorothea Thursfield, discussing her brother’s success in examinations at HMS BRITANNIA, presumably sent in April 1898.
(3) Copy of a letter sent to another member of the Thursfield family while he was a guest of Vice-Admiral John A. Fisher on the battleship HMS RENOWN (1895), flagship on the North America and West Indies station, at Kingston Harbour, Jamaica, dated 31 January 1899.
(4) Letter to his son Henry G. Thursfield discussing the Mediterranean and North America stations, sent from Fryth, Great Berkhamsted, dated 27 April 1899.
(5) Letter to his wife Emily E.H. Thursfield, sent from the battleship HMS KING EDWARD VII (1903) at Breal, France, dated 13 July 1905.
