In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Application has been made to this Board by Captain John Votier, late Commander of the SALAMANDER, for the payment of his Wages for service in the said Vessel, notwithstanding that he has not delivered to your Office a Journal and other Papers required by the Lord Admiral's Instructions, his Books and Papers having been, as he alleges, all lost when he was taken by the French in the FIREDRAKE, of the truth whereof he has made affidavit.
We direct you to cause payment to be made of his Wages for the SALAMANDER if he has made Oath of of the loss of his Books and Papers.
