In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
It has been proposed as an expedient for supplying such Ships of the Fleet in need of Men out of the Men that voluntarily entered themselves into the Service, which by their Majesties' Proclamation are not to be turned over, that such Volunteer Seamen that are removed from the Ship on which they entered themselves shall continue to be borne in Wages on the said Ships, and that such victuals allowed them in the Ships to which they are removed shall be made good by the Pursers of the Ships where they are borne.
We direct you to consider the proposal and report to us your opinion whether it will be fitting to put it into execution, and what inconveniences you judge may arise to their Majesties' service.
