In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Having lately received from Admiral Russell an Account of the distance from and bearing of the Land, together with the depths of Water, where several Ships of the Fleet cut their Cables in May last on the French shore, in order to their chasing the Enemy, we send you herewith a Copy thereof, and desire you to consult with fitting Persons to consider whether there is any probability of recovering the Anchors and Cables, and if there be, what will be the most proper means to be used for effecting the same, and report your opinion to this Board.
