In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We are informed by your letter of of yesterday to our Secretary that having received advice from the Portsmouth Commissioner that most of the Shallops sent there from this River received damage in their passage, and that he had received directions from the Duke of Leinster to repair them, and also to make such Blinds in them as Martin Beckman should direct, and to supply two hundred Men that carried them with a weeks victuals.
We approve the Orders you have given for this to be done and we have ordered the Waterman that carried the Shallops to be discharged in order to their returning home.
Take care that they be allowed victuals for no longer time than they served in the boats.
