In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Her Majesty in an Order in Council on the 6th inst. declared it necessary for the timely provision of sea Victuals be made for 30,000 men for 13 months, commencing 1st. January next. We direct you to provide us with the usual estimates of the costs of the victuals, the wages and wear and tear of that number of men. We also require your opinion in which Ports with what proportion in each port in your judgement the victuals be provided.
