The ships listed being designated to be refitted in Portsmouth for next year's service, and those intended to be kept abroad this winter then to be refitted in the Spring. We direct you to survey the Ships at Spithead as they arrive and account taken of their defects, and ordered into Portsmouth as convenient for getting them ready for Sea in the Spring, taking those that require the least work first. Ships for This Year's Service: HOPE; LENOX; NORTHUMBERLAND; STIRLING CASTLE; DEVONSHIRE; RUSSELL; CORNWALL; BOYNE. Ships for This Winter's Service: BREDAH; EDGAR; CAMBRIDGE; DEFIANCE; MONTAGUE; PLYMOUTH; YORK; SWIFTSURE; WARSPITE; RUPERT; DREADNAUGHT.
